Why do western paintings and sculptures not like to wear clothes? The theme of many Western art works is ancient Greek mythology, the ancient Greek gods themselves are naked or half naked. There are also quite a number of art works of the Renaissance, some of which are based on ancient Greek myths and are naturally naked; others focus on the expression of "human power and beauty", and are deeply influenced by ancient Greek culture.
The ancient Greeks had a highly unified aesthetic concept. Their paintings were not realistic or even a little "over beautified". They emphasized the perfect proportion. The head, trunk, limbs and five senses of a person were determined by a certain proportion. That is to say, compared with myself, sculpture is like being beautified. The nose becomes stiff, the face becomes clear, the figure is concave and convex, and what is needed...
During the Renaissance, it inherited the Greek and Roman style, so we inherited the love of human beauty together. The most famous one is Michelangelo's works. Michelangelo studied sculpture and painting since he was a child. Later, he was valued by Medici and copied a large number of pieces of ancient Greek sculpture collected by Medici. In addition, Michelangelo himself also loved the beauty of body, so he vigorously carried forward the art style of ancient Rome.
People who look at nude women are usually divided into two groups: those who wear colored glasses and those who simply appreciate the beauty of their bodies. People who don't understand art usually take a little evil to see. In fact, it's nothing. After all, when creating nude women paintings, the painters were not very pure.
In Europe in the past, although it was much more open to China, it was not tolerant of the attitude towards nude women. In Rome, northern Europe and other places, they are relatively conservative, and few people draw such portraits. Florence and Venice are relatively secular cities, producing relatively more works.
At that time, when European painters did nude paintings, they didn't dare to draw people directly, but pretended to be Venus. Because that's the only way to paint naked. That's why many paintings are called XXX Venus.
